Ricky G. & The DreamGlows | El Weldeador

Tejano Roots Hall of Fame inductee Ricky G. now presents his latest CD release entitled “El Weldeador. ”

Born and raised in Taft, Tx., Ricky G. (Garcia) formed his first group in 1959 and officially adopted the name Ricky G & The Dreamglows in 1961.

With a number of regional English and Spanish recordings on Texas based labels, Ricky G’s musical career came to a halt when in 1965 he was drafted into the United States Army.

He reformed the group after his discharge in 1971 and has been going non-stop since then.

True to his roots, Ricky G. & The Dreamglows are one of the few remaining groups to still utilize real brass instead of synthesized brass in their recordings and live performances.

With over 50 years in the business, Ricky G is still performs on a weekly basis touring throughout Texas and many other Southern States.

This CD contains a mixture of both English and Spanish compositions, and also a few original songs written by Ricky G. himself entitled “Muchacha Loca” and the title track “El Weldeador.
